| Posted: | | | | As a long time DVD Profile paid owner, and paid Mobile owner when it was released, I can't wait for a iphone version to be released. I don't have a iphone YET, but It looks like I will soon. It seems everyone I know has one these days. I've just been waiting for the Applications I need to come to that platform before I get one. They do so much and easily, it's like why not get one. Right now I have my Motorola Razor cell phone and my HP IPAQ PDA. If I want to go Geocaching, I usually need a Camera, and sometimes either use the PDA or a GPS. Now I'm carrying a pile of stuff. I can toss it all but the iphone, and maybe my Portable GPS. In the ruff Area things tend to get dropped on the dirt ground or in the water, that won't hurt my GPS.
There are times I wish I had my PDA with me, but left it home because it's bulky and a hassle to deal with and with the iphone, you basically have it with you everywhere anyway. It's surprising how SMALL and thin they really are. Having access to my DVD list at any time, well I can't wait. I also really don't mind paying once again for a iphone version. It's not like it's going to be some huge amount anyway. The mobile version wasn't that much. Have to make a living!!! Besides the time are changing when people own large Disc based collections at home for just streaming movies which you wouldn't need DVD Profiler for. Sure don't need it when I'm scrolling though my Netflix movies to watch! |

| Posted: | | | | Oh cool. I was about to buy DVD Dashboard on the iphone, but now I'll wait some more... any chance of an ETA?
ps. I run DVD Profiler on a mac with parallels. Sometimes opening DVD Profiler hangs on the splash screen. Suspending and resuming the virtual machine (takes 5 seconds) will take take me out of the splash screen. Weird. | | | |

I just took a peek at that app, would be nice if it had covers. I loved the reviews on it though: "would love it if it had more genres and perhap a video game genre" |

| Posted: | | | | Has anyone ever tried the software or iPhone app by Collectorz.com? I was checking out the iPhone app and it looks pretty good. The software looks alright for the desktop. What is also nice is I am thinking of getting a Mac soon and they have software. There is a catch, the software is expensive compared to DVD Profiler. I also don't know anyone who has tried their software before. |

| Posted: | | | | I am not a fan of their software and i have a copy of it here. Yes they are more expensive, inpart because they pay a license fee to IMDb to allow them to use their data, and IMDb is a mess and inaccurate. Point blank DVDProfiler is the best there is, Mac ot not is completely irrelevant, you can always run Profiler under an emulator or even Windows itself now that Apple is using WIntel.

| Posted: | | | | I give up! I am getting a Mac soon and will be dropping DVD Profiler. Don't get me wrong it's a great program but with only one programmer working- the updates for DVD Profiler and new applications (iPhone) are too & far between. There are several good Mac programs out there and the UI looks just like i-Tunes. This particular program (forgive me I forgot the name) has the same features DVD Profiler has plus more. I noticed that it even keeps track of my movies on i-Tunes & my video games. AWESOME Sorry DVD Profiler good software but it takes forever for any news & program updates. Need to hire more people. |

| Posted: | | | | Not sure why all the fussing. It's only been a little over half a year since the last release and only 8 months since the last major release (while only a point release, it was still a major release). |

| Posted: | | | | The natives get restless very quickly around here, Doc. They get tired of the old toy and start demanding a new toy, then start castin aspersions on the program and on Ken and Gerri. This an old drill and users such as CakeDC we have seen before, nor do I have much patience for. Good-bye, Cake, don't let the hit ya where the good Lord split ya.
I will repeat what have said everytime for years, Ken, when he releases a Beta is light years ahead of most Programs in that his Betas are typically very stable and cause no system issues, minimal at worst. The new Programs (versions, IPhone, whatever) will come when they come not a second before. Being impatient about it will not get what you want accomplished any sooner, just be patient, if you are not happy about being patient then you are free to go somewhere else...no one here will stop you. But I will not put up with denigrating the Program, ken or Gerri because YOU (whoever YOU are) lack the maturity to exercise patience.

| Posted: | | | | If Invelos were a large multi-national company then I might agree to an extent but since it's relatively small then I think some delay is to be expected. Most independent companies take longer between updates.
As always, if you think that you can do better, by all means try and create your own program. |

| Posted: | | | | Yes, I admit I am impatient. I have enjoyed DVD Profiler and I have bought both desktop & mobile versions. I guess what I am trying to say is I did not realize how many other programs are out there like DVD Profiler. Yes I agree with the Doc & Jubal it is a great program & it does what it does well. I just think for my preference I have found programs that will run better for me on a Mac. Also the program I am talking about will track my i-Tunes movies which I have a lot of & my PS3 games--just my preference. I am changing programs b/c my needs for a program have changed. Maybe when DVD Profiler debuts a Mac version I will be back. Good Discussion. | | | Last edited: by CAKEKDC |
