| Posted: | | | | Quoting GSyren: Quote: Well, the version of ProfilerData.dll that comes with PQ 3.19 should work with PqLib.dll, but it doesn't add any useful functionality since PqLib doesn't support the new crew fields. I would have to update PqLib for that. Do you feel that PQPal needs that functionality? PQPal doesn't need any specific query capability. It just runs a ready-made query (created by the user of PQ), on the user's chosen collection and then subsets the DVDP collection display based on the result. So I'm not sure I understand, if you put new fields into PQ, and they are not supported by the underlying DLL, then how does the user run a query containing those fields in PQ? I guess PQ does not use PQLib - which is only for external calls? | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! | Posted: | | | | Since I did not release PQPal yet, and have no idea whether anyone would use it, I have no basis to ask you to do any extra work. But I had assumed that PQLib would always stay compatible with Selection scripts being built in native PQ. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Ok, let me give that some thought before you release PQPal, then. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

Do you want to get some user feedback before doing the work? I could go ahead and make PQPal available, and if it flops, then you save the effort. | | | Thanks for your support. You'll just have to make it clear that the new crew fields are not supported. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

| Posted: | | | | For any any of the query guru's out there: what would be the best way to generate a list of DVD profiles that have a corresponding Blu-Ray profile in the database, and likewise, a list of regular Blu-Ray titles that have a 4K version available?
I'm looking to reclaim some physical space and dollars by selling off duplicates created by format upgrades. I don't mind using a report, filter or any of the query tools out there. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! Well, ProfilerQuery can list duplicates. It considers profiles with the same name and production year as duplicates. Otherwise you could check out DJ Doena's plugin Find Double Dips. In both cases you'd have to check manually if they are indeed upgrades, rather than just same media duplicates. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

| Posted: | | | | Ok, since I have so few of the latter, that will probably work for me. Thanks. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. |

| Posted: | | | | PorfilerQuery 3.19.3- Fixes a minor bug in Duplicate Check. - XML export from DVD Profiler can leave illegal XML characters that would cause ProfilerQuery to crash. It will now recover from such an error without crashing, and use a slower work-around to eliminate illegal characters. This will not slow down loading of XML export files that do not contain illegal characters. It should be noted that the Duplicate Check only looks to the title (and production year), not the original title. So if you have different spellings in the title it will not see them as the same. For example if you have a US release named "Color of Money" and a UK release named "Colour of Money", they will not be considered the same, even if the latter does have an original title of "Color of Money". If you think that this is a problem, you might want to consider DJ Doena's plugin Find Double Dips, which does take original title into account. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Run an empty query to select all profiles, then select Tools / DuplicateCheck. What it does is actually to eliminate from the result all profiles that are not duplicates. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar | | | Last edited: by GSyren |

| Posted: | | | | Ok, great.
But when I try to save a flag set, those options are greyed out.
Other questions:
- is there a way to run a duplicates selection from PQPal? My Selection file was a blank query yielding all profiles. - open result to spreadsheet had all the fields jammed together in the first column, separated with semi-colons, which I think might be the Euro separation symbol. How do I get the comma used, so that my spreadsheet parses the fields? | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. |

I'll have a look at it. How do I get the comma used, so that my spreadsheet parses the fields? Doesn't your spreadsheet let you select separation character? ProfilerQuery lets you configure semicolon, colon or tab (tools/settings). Comma is really not a good alternative since some titles contain a comma. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. | Posted: | | | | Quoting me: Quote: I'll have a look at it. I looked at it, and it is intentional. The duplicate check was a bit of an afterthought, and it doesn't change the actual result set, it just hides the non-duplicates in the grid. The flagset menu items work on the result set, so they would set flags for everything. I can check if I can make a work-around so you can save flags after the duplicate check as well. But it's too late to start looking at it tonight. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar | | | Last edited: by GSyren |

I can check if I can make a work-around so you can save flags after the duplicate check as well. But it's too late to start looking at it tonight. Don't spend your precious time on it. I am a master data manipulator. Got what I needed in a matter of minutes. Procedure: 1) Set PQ presentation fields to include UPC as first column, title, and production year 2) Run empty selection 3) Tools > Duplicate Check 4) File > Open result in spreadsheet (fortunately you load the grid view, which has the subset) Now in the spreadsheet (This could be made into a macro that PQ could include in the Excel launch, to create a flag set from whatever is in the grid, regardless of how it got there) 1) Highlight column A 2) Data > Text to columns: answer yes to "overwrite ...", then Next (note choose ";" as delimiter) 3) Change format of column A to Text 4) Delete all columns except A (should now be only the UPC) 5) File Save As (text) .... filename.lst (A one column CSV file of UPCs = "flag set") DVDP will not load unicode text, so keep that in mind when doing the save as. Use tab delimited or ansi text. Done. Now just load the flag set into DVDP and do the work. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here.
