| Posted: | | | | It's a long thread, so I'm sorry if this bug has been reported before. When importing collection.xml file to CCV, you will get an Index error if you have profiles with no collection number without "none" ticked in your owned collection.
I'm not sure if it is more DVDP bug or CCV bug, but it does exist, and it is very difficult to discover. I think that the only way to find these profiles is to take a look at your online collection and to see which profiles has collection number 0. Using the program you cannot see those, without examining all profiles one-by-one on edit-mode. Easiest way to get profiles like this by mistake is to have tv-series with child profiles on your wishlist. When you move the parent profile to your owned collection, parent profile will get a collection number, but none of the child ones. "None" isn't ticked eather. In my opinion it is a DVDP bug, but I thought to give you guys a head up, since it isn't easy to find what's wrong when you get this indexing error. |

I created a boxset in the wishlist and moved it to the owned list. Then exported it and imported it into CCV. No problem. If you do not mind, can you send me your XML file (zipped)? Did you use the latest CCViewer version? (1.5.3) The thread for the CCViewer itself is here.

| Posted: | | | | Awsome plugin. Many many thanks.
One thing I found was that the awards for The Godfather: Part II were not showing as the UK profile has Mario Puzo's The Godfather: Part II as it's original title. When I changed that, the awards appeared. However, Godfather 2 I knew that it had won awards. Is there anyway to find which titles I own have awards which are not showing?
Also, is there a way to remove the Awards from a profile? Example the awards for The Godfather also show on the Godfather boxset profile.
Another odd thing is that 24: season 1 shows AFI TV programme of the year (2003), as does season 2 Season 3 shows 2003 & 2005 Season 4 shows 2003, 2005 & 2006 Season 5 shows 2005 & 2006, but no 2003. | | | Last edited: by eggerty |

As the awards are collected generically and not assigned to specific profiles, an algorithm was implemented which determines which profile gets assigned which award. This algorithm was fine-tuned with user feedback. The thing is, we have the following informations: For the award: Original movie title, year of the award For the profile: Title, original title, production year. For the award to show, the original movie title in the award data has to match original title of the profile. If the original title is empty, the title is used. Also the production year and the award both must be in a specific range. This works well for movies: I.e. in most cases showing the correct awards for the correct movie and not for a movie which happens to have the same title. As boxsets have often the same title as the first movie and also its production year entered (according to contribution rules) the award for the first movie are shown then. I had proposed, that when a profile has child profiles, I could accumulate all awards for the box, but that was not wished by others. What I also could do is, that I do not show any awards when a profile has child profiles assigned. Which in turn has the drawback that no awards for TV season sets when child profiles are assigned would be shown. Also the tolerance I need for the production and award year correlation is the cause, that for a season set more award years are shown. It is not possible to distinguish what awards belong to what season. In my CCViewer itself on the other hand, as I have real episode handling, I can show awards for specific episodes. P.S. Why is it always The Godfather which brings up these questions? P.P.S When you remove the colon in the title of the boxset profile, the awards for the first move should not show up anymore. Or you remove the "The".

| Posted: | | | | I created an award file for the AFI Top 100 lists. You can temporarily download it on rapidshare
http://rapidshare.de/files/38544931/afi.zip.html
the only thing missing afaik are the nominees for the best quotes list. All other nominees should be in there. Please note that this is the first version and there might be quite a few errors in there. | | | - Jan |

However, there are now awards for DVD releases. An example is the movie 11:14. It came out in 2003. The DVD was released in 2006 and won Awards in 2006. (DVD Exclusive Award). This award won't show up in DVD Profiler because of the 2003 original release date. Maybe it would be helpful to look at both dates? Thanks. | | | Attracted to "svelte buoyant waterfowl". |

And there are awards which are given after 10 years or later (Best Movie of the decade/century,...). If I open up the range wider, I still will get reports that awards are missing and then also a lot of reports, that awards are shown even though there are meant for another movie. As a compromise, I could implement the option to ignore the year altogether for the next version. Opinions on this?

I really wonder how many false positives there could possibly be? Would it maybe be possible to extend the award database by one field? You could add a boolean field "check year" that the award file editor can set to true if he knows there's a false positive out there. If it's false you don't check and if it's true you do.... Just an idea | | | - Jan |

As a compromise, I could implement the option to ignore the year altogether for the next version. Opinions on this? Is there any way to involve or use the UPC code? Would that help at all? We use titles now and thats great. Maybe attach a hidden field to record the UPC associated with that specific title? Just throwing out idea's. | | | Attracted to "svelte buoyant waterfowl". |

I think the year serves a purpose, if for no other reason than to distinguish from remakes. The 1949 Best Picture winner All the Kings Men, for example. While the Sean Penn version is neat and all, award-wise it wasn't even in the same league as the original. |
