Hello,

I have try to install all the stuff yesterday and I failed
I have 2 way to connect my phone (Sony Ericson Xperia with android) and nothing works, Mass storage and the "software one"

so I tried to use the script below but it don't completely works and some line looks strange to me

The Robocopy.bat file I posted contains :
rem THIS SHOULD BE THE LETTER OF YOUR DEVICE WHEN MOUNTED AS A DISK
copy "C:\Users\Robert\Documents\Droid_DVDP\droid_dvdp.db" "%dev%:\droid_dvdp\collection.xml"
I have try to open the file named droid_dvdp.db with an advanced text editor, it's not human reading so why renaming it into xml that should be human readable?
Any way this step works, just a copy but at the end I have no element in the collection so maybe it comes from here

Quote:
robocopy "%db%" "%dev%:\droid_dvdp\images" /MIR
I don't understand this line
it should copy the picture?
why we call again the script that try again to create directory and again that copy the xml files?
Did i miss something? Is that an other script named robocopy?

Thanks for your help
The app looks good but empty for now and is very frustrated

I had answer from the dedicated forum
I will put some answer here to help someone in case :D

robocopy is a command, unfortunately, it's not present on my old windows XP

It works well now, I have the 2 profile I select for the test

In fact the script wasn't correct for me
* it rename wrongly the DB file
  -> from droid_dvdp.db to collection.xml
* it don't put it at the right place
-> it didn't put it into database sub-directory
* it use a command that wasn't on my old windows XP

I don't write it to complain or attack, just to help the new user like me that may want to directly reach the success

You can download robocopy as a microsoft tools for xp (included in seven), make a search on ms website.
Don't mix db and xml, it's not the same.

Plugin version beta 0.3 on site.

Correct a problem with path containing spaces ('program files') and a type mismatch.

I hope it will solve hangs when scanning devices ...

Thank you so much Olivier for the App!

I have a Galaxy S2 stock ROM.

I installed both the plugin and the Droid App (in Internal Storage - the 16GB portion; not in the External SD Card; should it be in Device Memory? How to do it?) . Run 'Export Collection' successfully. Nevertheless, as others, Droid DVDP Exporter did not find 'droid_dvdp_is_here'.

I then copied manually both the database and the images to my Internal Storage, and everything is there, Droid DVDP working.

I now have two questions:

- Did anyone using the SGS 2 find a workaround so Droid DVDP Exporter can find 'droid_dvdp_is_here' and do the Sync automatically? If so, how? If not, I could not download the Robocopy file posted here (I get server error). Can anyone help me download it and explain how to use it?

- Wondering if there is a 'search' in Droid DVDP which I could not find.

Thanks for any help!

As it has been mentioned before there are a few oddities with tablets and how they handle the system memory and the physical SD cards memory space.

The issow I have found so far is that a LOT of tablets do now allow a "Charge Only" option the automagically mount the "sdcard" memory space and that blocks the plug ins ability to do what it needs to do.

The option at that point is to use a bat file and a program called robocopy to do the heavy lifting. I have that info posted on Oliviers web forum - http://www.olivier-detry.be/ddvdp/viewtopic.php?id=14

MB,
In no way trying to sound sarcastic, but, you may need to install Firefox to get to the site.
It may sound extreme, however, it may be the only workaround.

OK MB.
At least you took the suggestion the right way.  I don't use Chrome. Usually if FF screws up I default to IE.
Could it be something to do with ad blocking, anti-virus software or an extension?  Or even a DNS issue. (Although that should update within 24 hours or so of a new sight starting.)
Can you ping Oscar's site? Or run a trace route?
