That's weird. I've deleted my Browser history and Cookies (Firefox) but it still won't display correctly for me. It always shows it sorted by Title | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | Disregard. I feel like an idiot. For some odd reason I thought the little box with "Title", "Production Year", "Disc Release Date" and "Collection Number" was Search Criteria for the Search Field. I didn't realize it was for Sorting the collection . I do have one more question though: How do I get the Overview to appear when selecting a title? I know it's in the page.php file but I don't know what the parameters, etc, would be. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

-Robert Same here regarding the overview. A lot of the rear cover's quality is lacking and reading the overview is a chore, if not downright impossible. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | The dropdown list is the sort mechanism. It isn't directly related to searching. The search always and only does a title search trying to match the text you entered against text in the titles. However, the search results are displayed in the sorted order adhering to your current sort selection.
If you want to change the titles to display the description text instead of or in addition to the rear cover art, you have to edit page.php and re-upload just that file. No other files need to be updated. If you have a rough understanding of how to read php (the code in page.php is just a bunch of echo commands spitting out html), and you know html, it's extremely straight-forward to make the necessary changes. If you don't know any html, you might not should be messing with it.
I agree that the rear cover quality is lacking. That's why I originally started the higher-res cover art discussion in the feature request forum (that ultimately led to this thread being started).
I updated my test listing ( http://night.org/dvdtest9 ) with something similar to what you're asking for. This only took a couple minutes, but in doing it, I noticed a minor inconvenience in that descriptions with apostrophes and line breaks were problematic and needed some simple php to fix them. Still, the changes to page.php were quite minimal. I uploaded page.php ( http://night.org/dvdtest9/page.zip ) if you want it. I don't think it looks particularly good this way, but I also put no effort into it either since this isn't an alteration I plan to use. | | | DVD Collection WebGen - use this tool to create your own online site like mine | | | Last edited: by redscull |

I’ll download it when I get home from work and take a gander at it. Thanks again! | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

I've uploaded the new page.php but it's not exactly what I was looking for. I would've liked both front and rear images displayed with maybe the overview either centered between them or even below them. I'll see if I can mess with it and perhaps get it the way I'd like. I can always reinstall the original page.php if I screw it up . Thanks again. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | Well best of luck. I've put a lot of effort into making the site easy to customize, but I'm definitely not in the business of doing custom design work for people. If you come across a more architectural problem or some limitation that my design is imposing, that might be something I'd address in a future release. For example, the prev/next page buttons on the main listing, while doable with the current version, would be a lot easier for a customizer to accomplish once I add some more access points into the main page's render process. But I don't think I'll be doing another release particularly soon. | | | DVD Collection WebGen - use this tool to create your own online site like mine |

I apologize if I gave the impression that I wanted you to do any more than you've already done. I appreciate the help you provided. Like I said, I'll figure it out . | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | Hmm, I wanted to edit my previous post, but I cannot. Is there a time-limit? I guess this has to bump, but that wasn't my intention. The link in my profile now points to version 2.1.0, up from 2.0.4. Note to anyone currently running a site using my webgen, you only need to even bother getting this version if one the following two enhancements appeals to you. Otherwise, the new version will appear to do absolutely nothing. 1) You primarily view your site as a WebApp on an iOS device (as I do), and want swipe gesture support. In this version, in WebApp mode, I added single-finger swipe to go to next and previous pages (instead of having to click menu tabs, tho they are still there). You can also single-finger swipe back to the listing from a title's page, as well as to undo search/filter mode. 2) You do a lot of custom modification to the core files. I added the echo insertion points into the main listing, as well as easier access to the URLs for "next page" and "previous page" (global vars urlPrev and urlNext in utils.js). Also, all the text is now driven by settings in a .css file instead of html to easier facilitate custom fonts/colors, etc. | | | DVD Collection WebGen - use this tool to create your own online site like mine |

| Posted: | | | | I believe you can only edit posts for 3 days but you can also send a support note to Ken asking him to remove the restriction on a specific thread. It applies to the entire thread though. |

| Posted: | | | | Hey Red,
I am trying to work on the page.php file to do a few things. I need to grasp a few things.
Page.php is JUST what is displayed when you click on a thumb nail ?
Does your program do anything with the Overview on the exported xml file ? I would like to add it but if it isn't built into the basic out put in a way that I understand.
I see this in the <upc id>.php
renderPage("043396275195", $url, $urlx, $qry, $picx, $picy, $picz, $miny, $fixed, $fsize, "2012", "", "2009", "2012", "PG-13", "158", "Disaster, Adventure", "043396275195", "From Roland Emmerich, director of <i>The Day After Tomorrow</i> and <i>Independence Day</i>, comes the ultimate action-adventure movie, exploding with groundbreaking special effects. As the world faces a catastrophe of apocalyptic proportions, cities collapse and continents crumble. <i>2012</i> brings an end to the world and tells of the heroic struggle of the survivors. Starring John Cusack, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Amanda Peet, Danny Glover and Woody Harrelson.");
Some of that is used some is not.
Next - It seems that to over all number of rows seems to be limited ? I keep hitting the + to make the grid taller- looks like it caps out at 11 rows?
I wanted to add the top row controls / navigation to the bottom of the list, what chunk of code am I looking for to do that ?
Thanks, trying to learn
