Right click on the title and select Move to, a drop down will appear with a list of your Collection Categories, select the one you want.

Flag the TV profiles and Backup flagged entries only (to a new backup file), then restore that backup file into the "TV" database. You can then delete the unwanted entries from your current database.

An alternative method is the create a new database copying the current, then delete unwanted entries from each database.

You can only have one database at a time open, so will have to switch between by using the Open Database dialog.

Two databases means doubling the effort to keep them up to date. Did you consider splitting the whole bunch into separate collections within one data base?

I agree with AiAustria and ruben. Separate databases is rarely the best solution to any problem. Separate collection categories are way simpler and easier to maintain. Another solution is to use tags for television and movies and just filter by tags.

I've found the software to be tempermental at times when going back and forth between databases.  And even it I didn't find this to be the case, I wouldn't recommend separate databases for what you're looking to do, Obertc.  Creating "Custom Collection Categories" as Ruben mentioned is the best approach.  The built-in categories are "Owned", "Ordered", "Wish List" and "All".  In my case I hide the "Ordered" and "Wish List" categories.  The custom categories I created are "Concerts", "Documentary", "Movies", "Musicals" and "Television", the contents of each category set to be included in the "Owned" category as well.  For good measure I also use the "Television" genre with all my Television profiles.  I rarely filter by the "Television" genre, but it never hurts to have the option.  I actually host my own phpDVDProfiler based website, so feel free to hit up the link below in my forum signature if you'd like to check out the online version of my local database which includes all the "Custom Collection Categories".

Creating categories could be a nice option... but the problem in my case is the (too small) number of categories. As I allways have my whole collection additionally in an Excel-List and quite often have a difference of just 5 discs, it's hard to find out in which of both files the wrong count is or where any entry is missing.

But as I got a little bit more categories in Excel than are allowed in Profiler, I am still searching for an idea to make it easier to compare both lists to find the reason for the difference.

Excel gave me just more possibilities for saparation: One column for WHAT they are (Adventure, Comedy, Horror, Fantasy...) and meanwhile a quite similar column WHERE they are (Adventure, Comedy like before but also Comic Movies, Classics, Made in Germany). And I got two columns to count: one for the number of discs, one for the number of movies/episodes. In profiler I "only" can count the discs, but finding and deleting the difference of just 5 has been a work for 2 weeks at the last try...
