| Posted: | | | | Well, I did "some" contributions for quite some time and sometimes votings "No" caused me to contact the voters for explanations.
Actually I got some more again but as I got a lot to do with typing cast & crew, I am simply sick of "teaching" voters logically reasons.
The ones who might have "followed" my contributions will have recognized, that I am doing countless child profiles. Well, for so many single seasons there is no, for some of box sets containing complete series there might be some discs, but so often there are only a few.
Well, just imagine me contributing the (updated) parent profile with comment "made it a box set; see child profiles for details" and recieving a "No" with the question "Where are the child profiles?" Anybody who does this should know that initial profiles have to accepted/released first and this is not in my hands.
Also recieving a "No" for an updated profile altough only the images are wrong is something I can't understand. In this case I'd accept a "Yes" for the profile and a "No" for the imagines (the logical way). But in my opinion (and due to countless experiences) it is mostly wasted time to contact the voters via PM. Especially when the votes don't make any sense, it would be so much easier to comment the texts of the voters to bring back sense. And especially this way the ones who then have to accept/release the contributions after voting might have it easier to do their decisions.
What do you think about this feature on the site? |

| Posted: | | | | Do you know, that it is in fact possible to edit your contribution notes?
If there is a no-vote, which is not reasonable AND the voter does not respond to PM, this is the way I act: explain, why the no vote is to be ignored.
If there is a no vote on the contribution, this contribution always gets into second level verification: knowing this you can also tell the screeners to dismiss the scans but approve the profile... | | | Complete list of Common Names • A good point for starting with Headshots (and v11.1) |

| Posted: | | | | Never seen this before! Well, this is good for me - but this way the senseless votes - or better: the voters - don't get an info about. ImO if there is a comment to such a vote, the voter should get a PM to recognize the comment and maybe to learn. This would avoid souch troubles - at least sooner or later |

| Posted: | | | | At least I presume that most of the voters don't do voting for the very first time. So I simply can't believe why they don't know so simply facts like waiting for child profiles... Well, I've edited the - so far - two contributions with that senseless "No"-Votings - during nearly 3000 contributions within the last year I was confronted with so many troubles that partially I am tired of creating threads like this one as in 99,99 % most of my ideas to improve "the system" (or however anybody would call it) don't change anything. Maybe most of the useres of Profiler never meet the forums, never contribute, only want to get data. And a lot of the ones who are in the forums from time to time seem mostly only to be asking for technical support. Maybe I sound disappointed and I can ensure you: I am! When I started with profiler, most things worked quite well, and if they didn't a solution was found quite fast. There was a community! Now it seems to be a handfull of "workers", but no more technical improvement and quite less teamwork. For me it looks as if too many parts of the once so "glorious" world of DVDProfiler went downhill. And it seems to go on this way.... |

| Posted: | | | | I sent you a PM offering my support. But I want to make public, as always, my deep appreciation to you and all the other people that make DVD Profiler valuable in the long run. Otherwise, it would be just a very clever program with no data.
So, please don't stop and don't give up. As a toolmaker, I offer to support you in any way that I can. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. | | | Last edited: by mediadogg |

| Posted: | | | | I must admit, in the case of a complete series box, contributions that remove info from the main profile and "replaces" it with child profiles would also get a no-vote from me. The rules allow for disc-level child profiles, but they are (luckily) not required... | | | The future is here. It's just not widely distributed yet. (William Gibson) | | | Last edited: by Rander |

| Posted: | | | | @Rander: A long long time ago I did this wrong and "deleted" cast & crew from the parent profile. I still do this for myself (to avoid the double credits) but I don't contribute cast & crew for the parent anymore. So I am actually not sure your concern according to my question? |

| Posted: | | | | Seems a shame to have to modify the database to satisfy reporting requirements. I mean, any tool, such as ProfilerQuery or CLTBoss, could easily have an option for "do not double count parent / child credits" in a credits report. In fact, it is now on my list for CLTBoss (although I am not sure that anybody is using it ) Or, the option could maybe called "ignore box set parent credits." | | | Thanks for your support. | Posted: | | | | Well, a couple of years ago I asked for a change: sum up the credit counts (in cast). You know: klicking on an actor shows the number of profiles he/she is counted, but if it is a series, it was a huge load of manually work to sum up all the counts.... and it was done quite soon - but only for cast.
For crew it is still manually to do... and it would be so wonderful to have a similar feature which shows up the crew member with e. g. "Director 12 times", "Producer 27 times", "Executive Producer 123 times" an so on. So far we only know the number of profiles any crew member is listed.... |

I thought that was already in GSyren's CLTInfo tool??? I made the collector - CLTBoss. He made the data reporting and analysis tool. You can even get it from the CLTPlus xml by running it first through CLTBoss, then spit out in CLTBoss xml for theCLTInfo tool. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. | Posted: | | | | Just imagine the number of tools/add ons which were (maybe only) created as there is no more update/modification of the program. I'd appreciate that without a further addon or tool. It's part of the software and could be implemented so easy |

| Posted: | | | | Well Magmadrag, chances are slim that you'll get it in Profiler itself, so - for now at least - this is the next best thing: Isn't this what you wanted, Magmadrag? CLTBoss may take a bit of time, especially for people with lots of profiles, but it's better than nothing. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

| Posted: | | | | @GSyren: That looks nearly the way I thought about - but the size of my collection scares me Especially as simply I don't want another plugin/app. I allready have some in use and to be honest: I hate it to need one app/plugin to get some further information one way and the next app/plugin for the next info and so on. Sorry! |
