| Posted: | | | | I have been running DVDProfiler for many years without any major problems. I went to start it up the other day and received the following error messages.
This file format is newer than this version of DVD Profiler. You will need to obtain a newer copy of DVD Profiler to proceed.

I have a working copy on another PC but it doesn't contain any of the new blu-rays that I recently added to this system I am having problems with.
Any suggestions on how this can be resolved. I was also thinking if I could get an XML copy of my blu-rays, I could add them to my second system.
Thanks. Ray |

I have gotten this error a few times recently when trying to download a profile from the online database. I wish there was a newer version of DVD Profiler for me to upgrade to. --------------- |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks for the recommendation. I just ran the database repair tool and it ran without any errors. Then I started up DVDProfiler and it abended again with all of the same error messages I previously reported.
This problem is obviously a bug since other users have experienced. Whether or not it will get fixed remains to be seen. I have not seen any updates for awhile. |

| Posted: | | | | Check your system date in case it got accidentally changed.
If that is not the problem, then start DVDP in "safe" mode (hold down control as it starts).
Then open a new clean database and give it a name. Restore your latest backup into it. Backup the uncorrupted database. Close Profiler. Open again, all should be well.
If that does not work, then DVD Profiler itself has been corrupted and should be re-installed. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. | | | Last edited: by mediadogg |

| Posted: | | | | One thing you could try is to delete (or rename) the online list files; OnlineList.dod and OnlineListSel.dod. You would normally find them at C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\DVD Profiler\
If they have been corrupted, that might be the source of your problem. Don't worry, if you remove them they will be rebuilt once the program runs OK again. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks for the update. I haven't had a chance to work on this problem. I have a second copy of DVDProfiler running on a second PC and it is a little behind in movie titles to the the broken dvdprofiler. When I get the chance I will check what movies I have added to my NAS and update the second copy. |
