| Posted: | | | | the big deal in this is it says they are going to discontinue the media as well...
i don't know if that means send backs for those, or fire sales... but i think it absolutely means we are not going to see any "new releases" on the format after tomorrow. | | | -JoN |

| Posted: | | | | I am so gald I did not spend an extra 600.00 and get a laptop with a HD DVD drive last February. I have had my stand alone HD DVD player since 07/06, and have enjoyed it, but all those people that just bought a player before Christmas should be given a refund. It would also be a good move for the studios to release Blu-ray versions of their HD DVDs and offer trade ins to their HD DVD customers. |

| Posted: | | | | Japanese news site Nikkei.net has just announced that Toshiba's plan is to immediately stop manufacturing all HD-DVD products (both players and recorders), and to stop selling them at end of March. The official announcement will happen at the press conference set for 5 PM Tokyo time. -- The Digital Bits | | | Signature banned: Reason out of date... | | | Last edited: by NewEnglander |

Being an East Coaster that 3:00 a.m. is looking pretty late. I'll check here in the morning. I'm sure somebody will post a link or two. |
