For those of you that are region free how do you list the currency paid?
I live in the US and if I purchase a movie say from Amazon.UK I usually put the price paid in pounds but now I'm questioning that becomes in reality I paid in US currency so for each of those titles I should convert into US don't you agree? |

| Posted: | | | | You are totally free to do whatever you like best. I myself live in Belgium and we are used to pay/count in Euro's. Buying in the US is to expensive for us as the exchange rate isn't favourable. But what do I do when I let's say buy dvd's online from England. I link these bought dvds to an English profile, try to look up the SRP price in British Pounds should I have to make a new new profile and calculate/convert what I have paid in British Pounds into Euro's (or I look it up ron my Visa statement afterwards) In the personal area you can use whatever currency you like, in the public area - SRP price - you should best use the national currency of that profile. Sorry for the long explanation, I hope it answers your question.

I started in DEM (Deutsche Mark) and converted to EUR when it was introduced as cash in 2002. I do so because at the end of the day I do pay Euros, regardless of where I buy. Also currency fluctuations would otherwise eff up my numbers, e.g. I payed 15 Fubars for a DVD from Fubar-Land and the exchange was 1:1, so I payed 15 EUR. Nowadays the exchange might be 1EUR to 1,5Fubars so it would look like I payed 10€ back in the days. But my days of buying abroad (meaning for me: outside of the EU) are pretty much over, the BD is well established and I have a pretty mainstream movie interest. My last non-€ purchase was "Django unchained" UK in December 2013 and the last non-EU "Zoot Suits" US in March 2012. | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki |
