Hi all,

I've just installed a new scanner (Epson V600 Photo) and every time after starting to scan, after previewing cover scan, when I go to scan cover to add said scan to my database, DVDP shuts down, without any warning.

When I restart DVDP, it requests that I do a DB repair (because it shut down incorrectly). (That's not the problem).

Has anyone encountered this problem before with scanners?

Device drivers are known for causing problems in general, especially when they are newer than the software that uses them. I suggest trying to install the oldest driver than works on your system, or a version designed for "compatibility" or any similar words.  Of course, you might lose some features that way. You might also search the forums for "twain" - I seem to recall a discussion of scanner drivers in the distant past.
Thanks for your support.

The easiest solution is probably to not scan from within DVD Profiler, but use the software that comes with the scanner, and then just open the saved image in Profiler. It's not quite as convenient as scanning directly in Profiler, but it probably offers possibilities to get a better scan.

After I posted, a couple of days later I was browsing the forums, I came across a similar problem. One of the suggestions was to scan to PC, then copy to DVDP.

I tried it, and it worked very well.

Thanks for all your help.

Isn't that exactly what I suggested?

@Gsyren: I agree that it is better to chat privately.

@voyager_one: Thanks so much for coming back to the forum and sharing your experience. You would be surprised how many people fail to do that, after asking for and receiving expert help. I gave you a positive reputation point (we often say "Greenie")
