| Posted: | | | | Hi, my understanding is that there is no need to assign a TV season release (containing multiple discs to house all episodes), unless someone wants to give detailed specific info for each set of episodes/disc. It's quite annoying to see a box set assignment without any additional info for each disc - it's at least a waste of collection numbers if we choose to keep the disc info.
Here is an example I would like to request to revoke: Star Wars Rebels: Complete Season Three (UPC: 786936854626) Submission note (locked): http://www.invelos.com/Forums.aspx?task=viewtopic&topicID=879458&PageNum=LAST
If there is no way or nobody really cares, can I ask whether it's possible to just add the disc info to the parent profile by myself (and I can delete the child profiles)? It doesn't appear to be doable but I could be missing something.
Thanks. |

| Posted: | | | | I'm not 100% sure I'm understanding right, but you want to remove child profiles for TV seasons from the database entirely and just use the parent profile?
Well, I doubt anyone will be okay with that as there are quite a few people, myself included!, that like the child profiles.
What you can do is this: 1) you mention not wasting the collection number. If you go to the personal information screen while editing your profile, you can make the number "0" and not use up a number.
2) If the info is in the child profile but not the parent, copy the information from the child, paste it into the parent and then delete the child profile. Highlight the profile you want to copy, go to DVD copy, then highlight the designation profile, go to DVD paste. You will be given the options for the info you want to copy. Either the whole profile or just parts of it (cast/crew). To remove profiles, right click on the profile you want to delete and click "remove."
3) Finally, you can say no to downloading the child profile all together. After adding the parent profile, the program gives you the option to either say yes to downloading the child profile or no. Just chose no.
You can even preview the information before downloading if you're uncertain which one you want. At the bottom of the add movies to your collection page is a button, "preview." Once you put the UPC in (on the title search page as well), click preview and it'll pop up what you'll be downloading. | | | Lori |

Thanks. The Disc Info, and any other info for that matter, in accordance with the standard and TV Series rules, should be added to the parent profile since child profiles are only optional. Quote: Individual profiles for each disc may be submitted if desired, but this is not required. Add these profiles to the box set contents of the parent profile. Create each of these individual profiles in line with the standard Contribution Rules with one exception - Cover Images. If a disc, or set of discs, have their own case, use the cover images from that case. When submitting a change to an existing TV series profile that is currently a box set, do not remove the existing contents. |
