You are not crazy, there is a known issue with units power cycling every few seconds, since Thursday/Friday.
I'm following this thread to see if there is a response from the company https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Home-Theater/bd-p/get-help-home-theater
Despite the note, its not "fixed", just a response from the company saying its a known issue they are working on. |

| Posted: | | | | Hi, I checked the link you posted and strongly suspect that Samsung did some sort of automatic update to players with WiFi access. No problem with my Samsung as WiFi is disabled. They are aware of the problem and I'm pretty sure they understand the gravity of this. It's probably best to just wait for a solution. With the way the unit is behaving, the ability to correct the problem via WiFi seems remote. Very discouraging. |

| Posted: | | | | Hi again JL, Just a further thought: You may wish to disable your router to see if the cycling stops. It's rather surprising that there is so little. if any, mention of things that people have tried to correct the problem. Jim F |

| Posted: | | | | If you are willing to try this. it might be possible to do a manual reflash of the player firmware.
There is probably some software on the Samsung web site that will do a firmware upgrade. If the software is designed to do so, it will gain total control of the device and communicate with a stub program in the device that can replace the firmware.

| Posted: | | | | In my situation, my unit was going on 4 years old, so I had already ordered a replacement from a different company, but I had tried all of the listed fixes I could find to no avail. Not a good public relations move from Samsung's part to not be more transparent.
I posted here just in case anyone had a unit experiencing the same failure but hadn't checked the samsung user boards or seen the few online articles from media yet. |

| Posted: | | | | If anyone has the same issue, I reached out to Samsung via their chat app on the website, and they sent a shipping label to send in the unit for repair, free of charge. |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks for that info! My device is still at the repair facility, but at least knowing what likely caused the issue and that it should be resolved once they do the hardware fix is better than the unknown. |

| Posted: | | | | For those interested, Samsung is now offering a refund of my out of warranty blu-ray home theater. Apparently they are unable or unwilling to repair it now that they have it. So its basically a take it or leave it proposition. I requested the refund but it still doesn't feel right, now that I don't have the device in my possession despite promises to repair and return it. |
